I am delighted to be introducing myself as the new Head of Secondary having been successfully appointed by the Board of Directors. I join King Solomon with seventeen years’ experience of educating young people in very challenging circumstances within inner city Birmingham schools. I am a qualified head teacher, having obtained my NPQH several years ago. I have also held a variety of leadership positions including Head teacher and Inspector, all of which have equipped me with a range of skills and experiences to aid rapid school improvement.
My passion and vocation has always been to help young people achieve more than they thought was possible. However, as soon as I walked through the doors of King Solomon, I knew that the role was going to be special. To work with young people and to drive their aspirations, in the area where I was born and grew up, is both a dream come true and a position that is privileged. As a result, your children and their best interests will be at the heart of my decision-making process.
It is important to assure you that I recognize work needs to be done quickly in the secondary school. My challenge is to bring the secondary school up to the excellent standard that is already in EYFS and the primary school and to improve the outcomes for all your children. I truly believe that King Solomon is a school of huge potential and I am determined to work tirelessly to both develop and build upon its Christian core values, vision and student outcomes. It is my intention that by working closely together with parents that we can make King Solomon the best that it can possibly be.
Appointing new senior leaders in secondary with the determination and drive that I have is going to be crucial to our success and I am delighted to inform you that three new exciting appointments have just been made; they will be taking up posts in the new term. This year is the beginning of the new chapter for the secondary school at King Solomon.
